Downloading Issues
Secondly, let me give you some info about my computer. I am running Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3, I have 256 mb of ram, and my comp is an all around piece of shit. Its from the late 80s or early 90s.
Now for my problems.
plain and simple: I can't download. Don't suggest changing my firewall settings because that's not the problem, I can promise you that. I found many suggestions and none seem to help. It started about a week ago, my computer wouldn't allow me to download binary files. Today I turned it on and now can't download anything. Well, it's not so much as it's not allowing me to, but whenever I try to download anything it automatically pops up as canceled, and when I click "retry" it looks like its working but then when it's finished downloading it there is nothing there. It's weird because downloading worked perfectly for me just a couple weeks ago. I scanned my system with Avast (an antivirus) and it found nothing. I scanned it with Advanced system care's spyware removal and cleaned it up. It says there is no threat there now, too but it's still happening. Since the time it worked I changed NO settings and didn't download anything new. The last thing I downloaded was an legit program, and it's completely gone from my computer anyway. Also, I think it is some kind of hidden spyware because almost every time I open something, this window pops up (shown in the link at the bottom of the page), however, I'm not even sure if they are the same problem, but they did start at about the same time.

Commercial Grade Router
We need one that can handle 50 connections with a total bandwidth of 40Mb/s if not more in case we get a fiber optic line.
We would like one that can port forward multiple ports for gaming within the house (if applicable). So far we are looking at a NetGate one that has an open source firmware on it which is good. Are there any other routers out there that you guys would suggest? Our limit is about $500 but would like cheaper if possible.
I will ignore all consumer routers posted
what type and how to cleaning a screen
Super newb question here.
I have a new LCD monitor, the screen though, when you touch is, it leaves like a smear in the pixels. What kind of screen is this? I mean I know it's LCD, but let's say, Apple has glass covered LCD's, so you could use a glass cleaner. What is mine? just plain old LCD?

teens Internet activity -
It logs all of the PC activity and then offers different reports / fiunctions that let you look back at the activity. So far I've just played with the summary of websites visited, amount of time on them, as i expect that to be my primary use.
My next delemma is whether I will let my kids know I have this program, and I see pros and cons for either choice. I'm curious what others think of that question, especially those who use this type of software (Family Cyber Alert is what I use; I'm sure there are others)
Any thoughts, suggestions from experience? Thx.
BIOS viruses still work?
I've heard about how computer BIOS are far more secured and its not possible to get viruses executed from ROM but is it true?
